Analytical Thinking

Analyzing means breaking down the whole into smaller parts and examining each part using logic and reason. The analytical person is able to break apart a problem and analyze it so it is better understood and valued.

Employers value the person who is an analytical thinker who is not controlled by their emotions but by rational and logical thinking.

How about doing a cost-benefit analysis at work. This is the systematic method of looking at strengths and weaknesses of a decision or taking action minus the costs associated with taking that action. Then determining the best approach to achieve best benefits. Employers must know how a product, idea or plan is going to affect the bottom line.

Next time you watch a movie try to analyze the actors, the story, the costumes, the music and so on. Try to think why they were chosen and how each one enhances the movie.
