What is Integrity?

Integrity means having the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles. More importantly, it is having these qualities not only in front of other people but having these qualities when no one is looking.

Good examples of displaying Integrity:

  • Always keep your word - when you say you will do something make sure you do it.

  • Keep your promises or don't make any promises you can not keep them.

  • Keep a person's trust - never repeat any gossip you hear about a friend or betray a friend's trust. Once trust is gone it is very hard to get it back.

  • What if you are in the store and the cashier gives you too much money back in your change. Do you just keep it or let her know she made a mistake and give the money back? Give the money back!

  • What if you come across a wallet or an iPhone or something valuable. Would you try your hardest to find who it belongs to? The answer is YES.

  • Always be on time - It is very annoying for people to deal with someone who is always late. Goes back to keeping your word.

  • Always be honest - If you make a mistake own up to it. It is much better to speak up and tell people if you made a mistake than trying to cover it up.

  • Take responsibility for your actions - We all make mistakes and the only way to learn is to admit the mistake and learn from it. If you don't admit it, then you will not learn from the experience. Never blame others for your mistakes.
