The Pareto Principle

The Pareto Principle comes from Vilfredo Pareto, an Italian economist of the 19th century who states that "80% of the outputs come from 20% of the inputs." This means a great deal of work we do is just busy work and only 20% is really productive. Focus on the important tasks throughout the day and try to get rid of the work which is not creating value.

To ensure greater productivity set deadlines for projects so they can be done in shorter amount of time. If you ever had to do a project and you were given a month to do it, you would probably take the whole month. If you are given a deadline of two weeks, you make sure the project is done in that timeframe. So get to the point and just do it!
