What is the stock market?

The Stock Market is a collection of stocks traded daily on the stock exchange. Companies and individuals all over the country and the world are buying and selling share of stocks all the time on the stock market.

When a company wants to raise money to pay their bills, they will go public on the stock market and start selling shares of their company. The initial offering of a share is called an IPO (Initial Price Offering). A company should have at least $50 million or more in revenue and show real growth over time before going public, This allows investors to buy stocks directly from the company.
